BECKENHAM TOWN 4-2 LORDSWOOD

SCEFL Premier Division

Saturday 2nd November

Becks came out of the blocks hard and fast scoring three goals in the first 24  minutes of the game. Lordswood got a couple back but a fourth goal put the game beyond doubt with five minutes left.

After a disappointing morning of rugby for the nation and the rain had finally cleared, we were ready to welcome Lordswood to the EPA.

Ryan Hall opened the scoring after just five minutes for the home side and Steve Townsend doubled our lead ten minutes later.

Townsend earned himself a brace scoring again on the 24th minute mark before the visitors got one back two minutes later through Antwon McKenzie.

Lordswood got themselves back into the game thanks to Luke Medley’s 69th minute goal to make it a one goal game.

However, Luke Rooney made the scoreline look more comfortable five minutes from the end to secure all three points for the league leaders.

The win extends our lead at the top of the table to eight points with two games in hand over Chatham Town who had their FA Vase game at Bearsted postponed.
