Wednesday 2nd October

In this midweek game we hosted Crowborough Athletic who we beat 7-1 in this fixture last season and were hoping to continue our good start to the season with a similar result. Crowborough had lost their last six league games some of which were by big margins and we intended to inflict a seventh.

The game started with a scare for the home side as Crowborough’s Keiran Scantlebury gave his side an early lead after just three minutes. Just after the half hour mark Steve Townsend got Becks back on level terms before stealing the show in the second half with two goals in four minutes to earn himself another hat trick in the 64th minute.

Shameek Farrell sealed the three points with a goal in the 69th minute to send Becks into the clash with Tunbridge Wells in high spirits.

We went to Tunbridge Wells who are another side with their sights firmly on that top spot in the league and new this was a big game that would have promotion implications. Tunbridge had had a mixed run of results heading into this one but that didn’t stop them from taking the lead right on halftime through Fjord Rogers.

Becks hit back quickly after the restart thanks to Damian Ramsamy. A last minute penalty was awarded to Becks to give them the opportunity to take all three points back home. Ryan Hall scored the pen and the final whistle blew soon after.

The win takes Becks to the top of the league with a two point gap to Chatham Town after they drew with struggling Fisher.
