HOLLANDS & BLAIR 1-2 BECKENHAM TOWN

Kent Senior Trophy

Saturday 23rd November

For the hosts this Kent Senior Trophy defeat was a third straight 2-1 loss following the league defeat against Becks at Eden Park Avenue the weekend before and the extra time SCEFL League Cup loss against Chatham Town in midweek.

Blair manager Simon Halsey admitted afterwards: “It’s tough to take three defeats in a week, all by the same scoreline, but they were against the two top sides in the league.”

A great strike from right-winger Shameek Farrell put Becks ahead in the 40th minute and passage into the next round looked secure when Mudiagha Wanogho doubled the advantage half an hour into the second-half following a set-piece.

Blair substitute Caleb Bearman-Dyce set up a tense finale when he pulled one back nine minutes from time but the home side were unable to find an equaliser. The win sees Becks advance into the third round of the Kent Senior Trophy.
