SCEFL Premier Division

Saturday 28th December

Three goals and three more points saw Becks extend their lead atop the Premier Division to six points after completing the league double over Erith Town.

With Ryan Hall absent through illness, Jamie Brown was drafted in at RB allowing Harvey Brand to push up into midfield. Elsewhere with Ashley Carew starting on the bench, Luke Rooney took the captains armband and Shameek Farrell was given the opportunity to lead the line up front.

Disappointing in a goalless first-half Becks took advantage of two sin-bins in the second to deservedly leave with the win. On the hour mark Harvey Brand’s right foot shot broke the deadlock and just two minutes later it was Brand again who kept his composure and his balance to dink a clever finish over the advancing Erith keeper to double the lead.

With ten minutes left Brand was denied his hat-trick by a good save but the rebound fell kindly to substitute Carew who banged in a third from 15 yards out to make it 3-0.

A late Danny Gannon consolation salvaged some pride for The Dockers but a quality second-half performance and some clinical finishing meant it was Becks who ran out well earned winners.
