Following the past two incomplete seasons, we now find ourselves in a new league with lots of different opposition. To prepare us for the season ahead we have a mixture of home and away matches scheduled against a whole host of teams ranging from the highs of League 2 to step 7 below us.

We haven’t faced many of our pre-season opponents in recent years however our 3-2 loss to Cray Wanderers in last year’s pre-season was a great test and will be once again. We didn’t get a chance to play Hollands & Blair in the unfinished 20/21 season so the last time we faced off was a 2-0 win in the last game before the first lockdown. Despite us not competing in the same league anymore it’ll be a good way to see where our team is at as we build towards the start of the season.

We will be facing five teams from the SCEFL First Division among our eleven scheduled pre-season ties. Our final pre-season game is actually after the kick-off to our league campaign due to scheduling movements. We welcome League 2 side Crawley Town. This year they are celebrating their 125th anniversary after finishing mid-table last season. It will be a stern test for our boys to see how they compete against a football league side.
